The station serves all areas of Meden Rudnik in Burgas and protects the waters of the Black Sea from contamination with untreated waste water. It is designed and built with a tertiary stage and provides treatment that fully meets the requirements of the European Directive on Discharge of Domestic Wastewater in Receivers, Defined as a Sensitive Zone.

The reconstructed treatment plant in Ravda was opened in October 2015. The facility collects, purifies and takes the waste waters of Nessebar, Sunny Beach, Sveti Vlas, Kosharitsa and Ravda, as well as of the villages of Kableshkovo, Aheloy and Tankovo. Its capacity is 222,000 inhabitants. The project is financed under Operational Program "Environment 2007 - 2013". An important part of the project is the reconstruction of the existing pumping stations, which have been "panting" during rainfall or evening peak load during the summer. This required the construction of four new pumping stations, and three of the old ones have already been reconstructed.
